Breast Enlargement Surgery - Dangers and Effects

The desire to have a bigger breast is a good thing. So many women want to do it , Even many husbands want their wives to do it. The question however is, what method is safe and which is risky. In this article, i will concentrate on the effects of breast enlargement surgery.

From research, breast enlargement surgery was the fourth most popular plastic surgery carried out in 2000. That shows that millions of women have been subjected to the ill effects of this procedure.

Silicone gel implants were banned in 1992 by FDA.

Research shows that there is  21% overall increase in cancers for women with implants, compared to women of the same age who had no implant. It is also found that women that had undergone breast enlargement surgery are thrice at risk of lung cancer, emphysema and pneumonia.

There is also a large possibility of leakage which may result in a deflated breast anytime soon.

Capsular contracture is the most common problem associated with breast enlargement surgery. This is when the scar tissue produced as part of healing begins to tighten. This often calls for additional surgery to remove the tissue or even carry out another enlargement surgery.

Death of the breast tissue, called Necrosis is another likelihood of this procedure.

Another rare possibility is when the body rejects the prosthesis and pushes it out of the body. this is called extrusion. here the implant becomes visible in the body and requires another urgent surgery for correction.
